Sample Resume of Mid-Career Candidate in the Finance Industry

Service Used: Renovate

Jeet is a seasoned chartered accountant with dreams of becoming of a top financial analyst at a prestigious firm in the middle east. Unfortunately, his resume was wrought with issues that hinder his future employers from understanding just how effective he is. The top 3 issues we identified with his resume included:

1) Weak grammatical structure
2) Boring/repetitive writing style
3) Understated achievements

Grammar: While his first language may not be English, he is clearly able to conjugate and formulate well written sentences. However, he jumps around in his use of tenses. ResumeGuru consolidated his points to all be in past tense to make the voice and presentation of information more consistent.

Writing style: He has a very odd tendency to overuse certain words such as "involved", "leading", "responsible for", and "areas". ResumeGuru took a creative pass at each bulletpoint using a richer, more diverse vocabulary worthy of a candidate with his successful track record.

Achievements: He is clearly someone who isn't afraid to put in long hours to get great results. ResumeGuru emphasized his strategic thinking and return-on-investment which, to any great account firm, is simply music to the ears and dollar signs to the eyes.
